Drive the winding roads into the Westallgäu, and you're already unwinding before your suitcase is open.
A gentle wind through herb meadows. Behind them, the raised bog and quiet forests. Across alpine meadows and soft hills, the view opens onto the mountains of the Bregenz Forest.
There's plenty to do here. But you don't have to do any of it.

- By car
- Equally easy to reach from Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria. Lake Constance is twenty minutes away by car.
- By bus & train
- To Oberstaufen or Bregenz. From Bregenz, you can reach Scheffau comfortably and directly by bus in thirty minutes. Otherwise, we're happy to handle the last stretch — just ask, and we'll pick you up or arrange a taxi. bodo — getting around by bus and train

Spring, Summer & Autumn
Hiking boots by the door, the route on the breakfast table.
From a walk through the orchard meadows to a hike up the local mountain. Waterfalls to cool your feet in summer. Road and gravel routes almost no one knows about.
And Lake Constance, twenty minutes by car, for a jump into the water or an evening on the shore.
In autumn, the light drops lower and the trails grow quieter. Our favourite season.
Winter & Sports
No ski-resort circus.
Instead: cross-country trails starting at the door, sledding runs for adults who don't take themselves too seriously, and ski areas a short drive away.
Snowshoe hikes through quiet forests. And afterwards: sauna, fireplace, red wine.
Culture & Excursions
We have a plan for any weather.
The Bregenz Festival on its floating stage, 20 minutes away. Lindau, with its harbour and the lion statue. The building culture of the Bregenz Forest, which architecture lovers adore.
Art in Ravensburg, a cheese trail in the hinterland, the Swiss Rhine Valley within an hour.
